This is how we can help !

When we are contacted we initially liaise with the family to establish what funding may be avaiable to them. One of our volunteers or Liason Officers will contact the family to arrange a convenient time to visit or call them.

The application process is discussed and where there is likely to be an entitlement to funding, we will source the necessary paperwork and assist with the applicatiion process.

When the amount of funding that may be available has been established, it is possible to start the arrangement for the funeral. At this point we introduce you to one of the Funeral Services, we work with to provide you with a funeral that meets the needs of your loved one within the funds available.

We offer guidance throughout the whole process

The death must be registered prior to the application being submitted.

To make a claim, you must be on the qualifying benefits;

* The Claimant (not the person who has died) must be on the correct benefits in    order to claim.

* The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) must agree that it is your responsibility

to claim the cost of the funeral, because you are the Partner, Next of Kin (N.O.K) or close    friend of the deceased.

* The person who has died must have been originally, a Resident in the UK when they died and the funeral must take place in the UK.

* You may be unable to claim if the person who has died has savings or a Pre-paid Funeral Plan, or even a sufficient estate to cover the cost of the funeral.

A bearevement is a stressful time, both emotionaly and financially, for families and we aim to try and help you through this difficult period

Our panel of Independent Funeral Servies are on hand to give support before, during and after the funeral takes place.

Funerals can be arranged, starting at £850 + Disbursements (third party costs such as Crematoria, Doctors' Fees and Minister's Fees)

We are a volunary organisation and any time we can be of assistance to the family, there will be no charge or fees payable to The Funeral Funding Service CIC.

Our support is the most important part of our service to you.

In most cases we look to have Applications processed and paid out within 2- 4 weeks, however in some cases this may take a little longer.

Unfortunately we are not able to help in all cases, however in such circumstances we support and guide families to other avenues that may be of help.

NB. If you are one of the many full-time carers that looked after a loved one, who receive all the benefits in their name, only now to find that you have no benefits coming in or you need to update all of your benefits to be in your name etc.

We can offer this help to you as part of our follow-on service. Please be aware that this may incur a small charge usually around £15 - £30.
